Childhood/Complex Trauma

You are more than what happened to you.

  • Narrative Perspective

Much like the Japanese art of Kintsugi, a narrative approach to trauma therapy takes the broken pieces of a person’s story and connects them to form something new and beautiful. All of our trauma-focused therapy (individual or group) utilizes a narrative perspective to facilitate healing from childhood and/or complex trauma.

  • Somatic Approach

Trauma affects not only the mind and emotional health, but also lives within the body. A somatic approach connects the mind and body together to grow congruence and balance to achieve holistic health. All of our trauma-focused therapy (individual or group) utilizes a somatic approach in whatever capacity a client needs.

  • Expressive Arts Integrated

Expressive arts therapy enables individuals to explore and communicate feelings and traumas through creative pursuits like music, writing, visual arts, dance, and drama. This approach fosters self-discovery and personal expression, aiding emotional articulation often difficult in verbal therapy. This is why the expressive arts are an option within our individual trauma-focused therapy, but also emphasized in our group therapy experiences.
